3. “I would love to take over for you for a few hours. Take all the time you need.”
I know we ALL NEED THIS. We all need the one person in our life to say these words and then actually follow through.
It’s tiring doing everything. It’s hard and some days, I just want to cry. Please offer me help, and then ACTUALLY help me.
5. “Your kid has the best manners I’ve ever seen.”
At home, my kid is the reckless, demanding, spawn of Satan (aka me to my mother). When we’re in public, I’m just praying my kid doesn’t have a mental break down in the store, because I hate the death stares.
Like I’m sorry, I can’t control everything. But those few times when we go out and my kid is well behaved, I love receiving all the compliments I can.
6. “You are super mom.”
I try to do it all. Extracurricular activities, healthy lunches and breakfasts, homemade dinners, laundry, etc.
But I feel like I’m drowning every moment of the day. And sometimes, I just need some reassurance that you see that I’m trying and that it’s paying off.
7. “Your kid seems to be the happiest kid ever.”
Well, I hope so. But you should have seen my kid this morning when I said, they couldn’t wear 2 different shoes and no underwear. Uh Yeah, not so much of a happy camper then.
There’s nothing easy about being a mom. Being a mom today is hard.
Nobody has it all figured out, and that’s okay. As long as we moms do the best we can and stick together, we’ll get through these first 18 years just fine.
