When The ‘Daddy Question’ Pops Up, Here’s What I’ll Tell My Kid

I am so very sorry that you were brought into the situation but I will never regret you coming into the world. I tried to stay and work things out with your father but something you will learn is that not everything has a happy ending.

Something I’ve learned?

Even though it doesn’t seem like there was a happy ending to the relationship, there was. It’s you.

I don’t know what the future holds for us but I can tell you that I have a future now because I left your father.

I don’t hate your dad at all, and I don’t blame him.We each had a part in the downfall of the relationship but no matter what way you spin it, the situation was toxic and we needed out.

My dear sweet child, I loved you too much to let you grow up in that.

That is why I left.

I left because you deserved better. I didn’t want you thinking that that way of life was even slightly okay.

You needed to have an actual parent instead of the shell of a person I was when I was around your father.

I left because I love you.

The custody is yet to be decided but I hope that you end up where you need to be to have a happy, successful, beautiful life.I believe you will do great things no matter what.

Both your dad and I love you and that will never change.

Hopefully one day we can both find a way to be in your life and be healthy.

You are the happiest ending I could ever ask for. I have never loved anything as much as I love you.

I know that this is hard to understand but me leaving wasn’t a bad thing. It was a new beginning for all of us to be the people we want to be.

I believe that it was the best decision I could have made.

Laying down next to you as you fall asleep I know I made the right decision. It wasn’t an easy one to make and I hope that someday you will understand that.

And I hope that your father understands that as well.
