The “Feel good factor “

The pandemic has unfortunately taken its toll on everyone. People from every walk of life have been affected. Its not only the financial aspect but a lot on the personal level too.

Each individual is battling a battle unknown. Day In and day out it’s a constant struggle. Days have turned into weeks and weeks into months .

What I realized and it worked for me, was this one thing….

I would start my day with my exercise . Meditate a bit and jot down my thoughts. I tried not to overly alter my routine. The routine, I would follow before the pandemic. I would dress and be ready for the day.

I would like to share a small incident. How things which seem insignificant, can have greater repercussions.

A very close associate called me one afternoon. She was on the verge of hysteria . She said “Nothing seems to be working out “.

I patiently listened to her entire outburst. What I gathered was that she was getting depressed.

She cited the following reasons :

I have no where to go.

And I don’t like dressing up.

I had bought so many new outfits and make-up . It’s all just sitting in my closet .

All this is making me depressed.

I’m overeating.

And I’m putting on weight.

I’m not exercising.

And I’m just hating myself more.

It’s putting me off everything.

I step by step encouraged her to join an online Zumba, yoga or Pilates.

Told her to be in touch with her friends and close relations .

Dress for the day in your best.

Wear Make-up, even when you are stepping out for sometime.

Don’t let anything stop you from doing what you feel like.

Practice social -distancing and do what makes you happy.

Go for a drive.

Keep motivating yourself.

Switch to healthy eating .

I know, it sounds like a tall list .

Believe it!! And you can do it.

Half your battles are won .

We will be defined with a new benchmark. Pre-pandemic and post-pandemic.

Don’t let there be too much of a discrepancy.

It will all be fine. Stay safe. Stay blessed 😊😊
