A rose is not just a rose. Since ancient times roses have been grown for the fragrance and the beauty and symbolism they represent.

History of The Rose

The ancient Greeks and Romans connected the symbolism of the rose to Aphrodite and Venus, the goddess of love. Roses have been used through the ages to convey messages without words and often in confidence. Secret admirer, anyone??? The Latin expression “sub rosa” means under the rose. And in Ancient Rome, a single wild rose was placed on the door of a room where confidential matters were being discussed.

Is the white Rose. It stands for innocence and purity. And silence, secrecy and reverence.

The Friendship Rose

Is yellow in color and represents both friendship and joy. It can also represent new beginnings.

The Gratitude Rose

Is a pink rose. Dark pink roses are for gratitude, and appreciation. Light pink roses can be used to represent sympathy and admiration.

The Appreciation and Admiration Rose

Is the orange rose. Fascination and desire can also be represented by the orange rose.

The Enthusiasm and Desire Rose

Is a white lilac rose. White buds can symbolize girlhood. Brides will likely use these buds for their bouquets.

Is usually purple in color. True love and long term love are usually expressed with darker purple roses while lavender roses represent  love at first sight.

Also not found in nature, the green rose represents calm, balance and stability. It an also represent fertility. Green roses are meant to offer good luck.

Number of Stems
